Diversity & Ethnic Studies:Virtual Community

This Virtual Community began as a simple, personal list of diversity-related Internet resources. For those of us far from home, it is a means of keeping in touch with our communities. It is also a good place to begin learning about others, different than us.


Planet Youth

"Planet Youth" provides information on Boys and Girls Clubs, sports, fitness, culture, community and the environment. Planet Youth also provides access to links to the Native American culture, history, education and arts and sciences.

This online book conveys the idea of world peace through children working in their own homes and schools.


Coming to the USA - Immigration

Nationwide, the United States is in an immigration boom. As the 20th century draws to a close, immigration levels are higher than they've been since the century began. Nearly 1.2 million immigrants are arriving in the USA every year, about 900,000 legally and an estimated 275,000 illegally. Explore more USA Today infomation on the topic of immigration

Project Harmony

Project Harmony is a not-for-profit organization founded on the belief that active citizenship and community involvement strengthens and energizes the global community. Our work grew out of the profound changes in the relationship between the former Soviet Union and the United States, and has expanded to include constituents from other areas engaged in exploring civil society and new patterns of citizenship.
